CSO Project Initiatives

A dozen civil society organisations (CSOs) that are undertaking projects geared towards capacity building, skills enhancement and advocacy have each been awarded grant funding made available under the final year of the 9th European Development Fund Programme aimed at “Empowering Non-State Actors in Seychelles”.

Following the recent call for proposals, a total of 26 potential projects were submitted by 19 NGOs. However, only 12 proposals were selected for funding.  The grants recipients and successful projects are a follows:

Capacity Building in the Association of Artisanal Shark Fishermen (AASF) in gathering and management of data.

Promotion of Men’s Health – sensitization campaign about cancer and associated diseases affecting men.
Seychelles Scouts Association
Leadership and Management- Capacity Building Training
Alliance of Solidarity for the family (ASFF)
Training In Counselling and interpersonal communication skills in sexual and reproductive Health
H.I.V. and AIDS Support Organisations (HASO)
Strengthening HIV/AIDS Awareness and prevention Amongst Young People on Praslin Island
Friends of Prison
Production of Information booklets for prisoners

Empowering Youth in Community L

Professional Certification for Boat operators on Cousin Island Special Reserve
