The local election observation group Citizens Democracy Watch (CDWS) has presented its preliminary report after observing the first round of the presidential elections. CDWS had 22 observers at polling stations from the 03rd to the 5th of December.
All political parties had representatives at the event which was held at the CEPS Conference Room, Orion Mall. Also in attendance were representatives of the various embassies in Seychelles, members of the Electoral Commission of Seychelles, as well as the international observer missions.
The association which is accredited with CEPS, presented methodology and activities they undertook as part of the observation, which not only concentrated on polling days but also during the campaign period.
CDWS has made a series of recommendations to the Election Commission of Seychelles.
A more detailed report will be published after the second round of election scheduled to take place between the 16th to the 18th of this month
