CEPS and Central Bank of Seychelles Partner to Deliver Financial Education Training for Civil Society Organisations

The Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS), in collaboration with the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS), commenced a two-day Financial Education Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on 3 June 2026 at the CEPS Conference Room, Orion Mall.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen financial literacy and promote financial inclusion among civil society organisations and the communities they serve. The training brings together representatives from various non-governmental organisations, community groups, youth organisations, and associations working with vulnerable populations.

The programme focuses on four key pillars of financial education: cybersecurity and fraud prevention, personal finance management, consumer protection, and digital transformation. Through interactive presentations and practical discussions, participants are gaining valuable knowledge on safeguarding personal and organisational information, managing finances effectively, understanding consumer rights, and navigating modern banking and digital payment platforms.

The Training of Trainers approach is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to share financial education within their respective organisations and communities. By building the capacity of civil society leaders, the initiative seeks to extend the reach of financial literacy programmes to a wider segment of the population, including youth, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, CEPS highlighted the critical role that financial education plays in empowering individuals to make informed decisions, protect themselves from financial fraud, and confidently engage with an increasingly digital financial sector.

CEPS extends its sincere appreciation to the Central Bank of Seychelles for its continued partnership and commitment to promoting financial awareness and inclusion across Seychelles. The organisation also thanks all participating organisations for their active engagement and contribution to the success of the programme.

The training concludes on 4 June 2026, with participants expected to apply and disseminate the knowledge gained within their respective communities, contributing to a more financially informed and resilient society.
